ELLINGTON TYNES
Los Angeles-based Ellington Tynes is a visual storyteller whose work spans commercials, documentaries, and branded content. His portfolio includes collaborations with premium brands such as Coach NY, AT&T, HBO, and KFTK.
As the Creative Director & Owner of Anacapa Productions, he leads a talented team in transforming creative ideas into compelling visual narratives. Overseeing every stage of production, from initial concept to final cut, he ensures that each project is imbued with authenticity, precision, and a clear artistic vision. His interest in visual storytelling was sparked at age 15 upon discovering his family’s 1930s Kodak Flash Bantam camera, a moment that set him on a lifelong path in film making. This journey led him to study at Le Conservatoire Libre Du Cinéma Français in Paris, where he earned a Bac +3 in film and honed his unique visual language.
Throughout his career, Ellington has refined his craft through collaborations with notable filmmakers, including Marc Levin, Stéphane Benhamou, Cecilia Peck, and most recently with Michael Goi ASC via the ICG Mentorship Program.
Beyond the studio, his enduring love for the ocean has led him to sail along the breathtaking coastlines of the Pacific Northwest and Southern California, his absolute favorite places to be.
